Our story
Built by one woman, and 24 more.
Quraisha Spices was established on the 15th of February 2017, and it has sparked life in many Mauritian cuisines. The brand’s name, meaning ‘strong’, was gifted to Mrs Fazanah Golaup for her determination by her husband.
At the age of 57, the director’s vision was to empower women in society and to make their lives easier in the kitchen. She started with only 5 women and 3 vehicles — today the company counts 24 employees, mostly women, and a fleet of 7.

How it’s made
From whole seed to sealed packet.
Every blend passes through the same six steps under one roof in Pailles.

Sourcing
Whole spices are selected by grade, colour and aroma before anything is opened.

Cleaning
Stalks, stones and dust are sifted out so only clean seed goes forward.

Roasting
Gentle dry heat wakes the oils up — the step that decides how a masala smells.

Grinding
Milled to the grade the dish needs, from coarse crack to fine powder.

Blending
Weighed to recipe and mixed until every spoonful tastes the same as the last.

Filled, sealed and labelled under halal certification, ready for the shelf.
